Not quite

After 1/1 yesterday, not so good today with 0/3 returning a win, although we certainly got the price with each selection, and some good displays too.

We had:

TIME COURSE SELECTION 1pt/2pt win Bookmaker(s) / Price(s)
3.00 Stratford Heron Bay 1pt 6/1 generally 13/2 Coral
3.20 Southwell Iona Days 1pt 8/1 generally 17/2 Boyle
4.20 Southwell Crosby Jemma 2pt 12/1 generally 14/1 Lads

Heron Bay was backed down to 4/1 at the off and ran ok, he just couldn't really quicken well enough and a poor jump two out didn't help either.

Iona Days was absolutely cruising in the 3.20, after starting a very well supported 7/2. His price was under a fair bit of pressure so we'll mark him as a 7/1 shot. He ran very nicely, trading at around 1.15 in running at one stage, going very nicely turning for home. But a couple of poor jumps rather stopped him in his stride and he didn't find as much as had been hoped, and he went down in second, beaten just over two lengths.

Crosby Jemma was another to be very well backed, going off at 7/1. She was detached a bit in the first part of the race, possibly struggling to go the pace, but stayed on quite nicely and just for a moment or two it seemed she might be able to get up with the leaders, but she could only manage third, a decent performance nonetheless.

Confirmation of results with prices (advised --- SP):

Heron Bay, 3rd/7, 6/1 --- 4/1
Iona Days, 2nd/8, 7/1 --- 7/2
Crosby Jemma, 3rd/8, 12/1, 7/1

So a fair selection of well backed sorts running well, but not getting that win, a shame but we'll be back tomorrow where hopefully we can get our rewards.
