We had another second beaten in a photo, and the other was unplaced.
Here they were:
TIME COURSE SELECTION 1pt/2pt win Bookmaker(s) / Price(s)
1.50 Nottingham Chater Garden 1pt 7/1 Bet365/Stan James/Bluesq/Betfred 13/2 Hills
3.20 Nottingham Dubara Reef 1pt 5/1 Lads/Totesport/Boylesports/Stan James/SportingBet
4.10 Uttoxeter Consulate 1pt 10/1 Bet365/Hills/Stan James
Chater Garden went off at 15/2, raced wide, and finished a well beaten last.
Dubara Reef was a narrowly beaten second. He looked to have won the battle in the closing stages, getting up to beat the eventual third close home, but a 33/1 shot came with a storming late run to nick us on the line. A great finish but we came out just the wrong side on this occasion.
Then came Consulate, who was backed as if defeat was out of the question, going off at 7/2 in the end and then hacking up in convincing style making full use of a tumbling handicap mark, a great result and keep things ticking along very nicely for us. There was a 10p r4 deduction sadly on our morning stakes, but still a good 9pt profit on the race (7pts overall for the day).
Confirmation of results with prices (advised --- SP):
Chater Garden, 8th/8, 7/1 --- 15/2
Dubara Reef, 2nd/15, 5/1 --- 11/2
Consulate, 1st/8, 10/1 --- 7/2
We've had a great few days and with a busy Bank Holiday Monday to come we should have a few opportunities to keep things going!
