We've had four betting days of the month so far, the first March 3rd:
TIME COURSE SELECTION 0.5pt/1pt/2pt win Bookmaker(s) / Price(s)
5.20 Sedgefield Morning Time 1pt 9/2 Totesport/Boyles/Betfred/
Lucinda Russell's Morning Time went off at 4/1, solid in the market despite showing precious little previous form. This effort didn't entirely go to plan, he didn't have the clearest of runs, being forced wide and being checked in running a couple of times, before staying on quite well at the end without threatening the leaders. He's entered at Sedgefield on Tuesday and just might be worth another chance.
After a quiet start to the month in terms of selections, things bursted into life somewhat on March 7th with four picks:
TIME COURSE SELECTION 0.5pt/1pt/2pt win Bookmaker(s) / Price(s)
3.00 Wincanton Dragon's Den 1pt 8/1 Hills/Coral/Stan James/Skybet 9/1 Bluesq/SportingBet
4.20 Carlisle Teenage Dream 1pt 9/2 Bet365/Totesport/Boyles/
4.40 Wincanton Next To Nowhere 1pt 7/1+generally bog
4.50 Carlisle Sergeant Pink 1pt 10/1 Hills/Bet365/Sky/Stan James
Dragon's Den went off at 12/1 and would have gone close but for stumbling really badly at the last, when staying on well at the time as a close up third. Another one to possibly look out for going forward.
Teenage Dream (7/2sp) was well beaten, while Next To Nowhere (6/1sp) never really looked like being good enough, a couple of poor jumps not helping.
Sergeant Pink started at 14/1 and didn't run too badly, keeping on towards the end, only being beaten about five lengths in the end in 5th.
Next up was on March 8th where we had:
TIME COURSE SELECTION 0.5pt/1pt/2pt win Bookmaker(s) / Price(s)
2.20 Sandown Walden Prince 1pt 5/1 generally bog
4.20 Ayr Mac Steamy 1pt 9/2 Totesport/BetVictor/Betfred 4/1 generally
Walden Prince was held up right out the back, and was a little keen early on. He also raced very wide at a couple of the bends, and made more than one significant mistake, so it is to his eternal credit that he managed to stay on to win close to the line at 9/2sp.
Mac Steamy was well backed, going off at 10/3 but faded out of things after leading for much of the contest.
And then on to today where we had:
TIME COURSE SELECTION 0.5pt/1pt/2pt win Bookmaker(s) / Price(s)
4.00 Warwick Bally Sands 1pt 15/2 Bet Victor/SportingBet 7/1 generally bog
5.20 Market Rasen Fred Kennet 1pt 11/2 StanJames/SkyBet 5/1 generally bog
Bally Sands was a winner for us over hurdles on the final day of 2012 and it was great to see Robin Matthew's 9yo follow up for us today. Well backed, going off at 5/1 he was always prominent in this 3m5f chase and finished really strongly with a good jump at the last to win by seven lengths, great stuff.
Fred Kennet unfortunately wasn't able to follow up for us, running poorly after starting at 5/1
Summary of results:
Sunday March 3rd 2013:
Morning Time, 4th/7, 9/2 --- 4/1
Thursday March 7th 2013:
Dragon's Den, 5th/8, 8/1 --- 12/1

Friday March 8th 2013:
