A fairly quiet Tuesday with just two selections, good value with one of them, but neither doing the business. It's been a frustrating couple of days since since Sunday and we look forward to getting back in front again soon.
Both picks were at Fakenham, the first in the 1.30. We had Shouldntbethere (1pt), at 13/2. Still searching for his first win over fences for Jo Davis, he'd unseaten and fallen on his previous two attempts. At least today he got around, but sadly he could only come third of the three to finish.
A couple of hours later, at 3.30, we had Chalice Welcome, advised at 8/1. Dropped back in trip, there was lots of confidence about, opening on course at 5/1 before supported further into an SP of 9/2. He ran a funny race, coming off and on the bridle and at one stage, not far from home, looked to be moving nicely into contention. But in the end he couldn't go with the front three when the pace quickened and he could only finish fourth.
Confirmation of results with sps:
Shouldntbethere, 3rd/7, 15/2
Chalice Welcome, 4th/8, 9/2
