Let's start yesterday where we had a couple of selections:
TIME COURSE SELECTION 1pt/2pt win Bookmaker(s) / Price(s)
2.30 Kelso Livvy Inn 1pt 6/1 Lads/Hills
5.20 Folkestone Hereditary 1pt 10/1 Bet365/Hills/VC
Livvy Inn was really well backed at Kelso, touching 3/1 and 7/2 before eventually going off at 4/1. Unfortunately he couldn't go with them when the pace quickened and was a well beaten 7th in the end.
At Folkestone, Hereditary was checked in running a couple of times, before really being very badly hampered so much so that the it seemed for a second the jock may topple off. He was unlikely to win at that stage though it has to be said, after starting at 16/1.
Then on to today and a whole lot better. We had:
TIME COURSE SELECTION 1pt/2pt win Bookmaker(s) / Price(s)
3.00 Exeter Sir Kezbaah 1pt 5-1 B365, W Hill, P Power
3.40 Pontefract King in Waiting 1pt 8-1 Boyle, 15-2 W Hill
Sir Kezbah seemed to be nicely supported right up to the off at Exeter, though was returned at 5/1. We actually had one of the team at Exeter today who spoke to a bookie on course about the SP being 5/1 who was a bit surprised to say the least. Still, no complaints here of course as it meant no R4 to worry about with Connak made a non-runner (generally a 9/1 chance), thanks to b.o.g.
As for the race Jeremy Scott's 7yo made light work of his rivals, easing to the front and quickening clear to win in incredibly convincing fashion.
King In Waiting drifted on course to 10/1, after being nicely backed this morning. Interestingly on course the support came for the other David O'Meara runner, Descaro. Sadly it was the late money which proved most accurate in this case, with Descaro staying on to win by 3/4 length with King In Waiting fading out of things in the last couple of furlongs.
Confirmation of results with prices (advised --- SP):
Monday 4th April 2011
Livvy Inn, 7th/15, 6/1 --- 4/1
Hereditary, 8th/10, 10/1 --- 16/1
Tuesday 5th April 2011
Sir Kesbaah, 1st/10, 5/1 --- 5/1
King In Waiting, 10th/15, 8/1 --- 10/1
So we're off the mark for April, some really interesting racing ahead in the next few days of course and let's hope we can follow it up with another good winner or two!
Hi Sam

Yes, thanks Mark, definitely interested in your post, and will be certainly watching closely how your staking performs vs win only.
ReplyDeleteToday's result is a good example of how it could certainly take some of the frustration away from narrow defeats!
All the best
Sam
