Evening racing eve

A couple of unplaced efforts today, although our second selection traded at around 1/5 in running before making a howler of the final fence and not recovering.

We had:

TIME COURSE SELECTION 1pt/2pt win Bookmaker(s) / Price(s)
3.45 Ascot Soulard 1pt 9/1 Bet365/Hills/VC
4.55 Ascot Georgian King 1pt 9/1 Bet365/Hills

Soulard started at 8/1 and, as is his way, raced prominently, trying to make all. Things looked promising for quite a while, but eventually he was picked off by the closing pack, and then was quite badly hampered by a falling horse to really finish him off.

Georgian King ran a cracker and would quite possibly have won had he not lost all momentum when clattering the last when holding the lead (trading close to 1.20 in running). Not to be though, we'll dust ourselves down and move on.

Confirmation of results with prices (advised --- SP):

Soulard, 7th/8, 9/1 --- 8/1
Georgian King, 4th/9, 9/1 --- 9/1

April's proving a frustrating month so far, but our position can be very easily recovered.

With evening racing kicking off in earnest tomorrow, the number of meetings is about to ramp up, so the number of opportunities should grow. Naturally we'll stay disciplined but we fully expect our daily number of selections to be on the rise. Will be a fascinating next few months and we can't wait to get stuck in.
