Weekly update (belated)

Have remembered I didn't do a weekly update from last week, so here it is.

Placed: 3 (12%)
Level stakes: +37.2pts

Weekly update

Confirmation of a tough week:

Level stakes: -18.9pts

Weekly update

Update for week Monday June 22nd - Sunday June 28th.

An excellent week, helped by a couple of decent double stake wins at 8/1 and 6/1.

Quite incredible how the staking plan's kicked in, 14.5pt profit a couple of months ago would have meant about £50 profit or so.

20 bets
3 wins (15%)
3 placed (15%)
Level stakes profit: +14.5pts
My own bank profit: + £364.87

The gang I put bets on for will see a new stake going on from July 1st, they'll go from £16.50 to about £35 or so (tbc after tomorrow's results) , so fireworks in store there too.

Weekly Update

Time for a quick update from last week.

Monday 15th June 2009 - Sunday 21st June 2009

29 bets
5 wins (17.24%)
7 placed (24.13%)
Level stakes profit: +4.13pts
My own bank profit: £111.42

Decent enough week then without hitting the heights of the early part of the month. 2nd places a bit of a feature, with 12/1, 9/1 and 7/1 shot among those second past the post.

From today, if you're interested, I've decided to put my own bank total in the box to the left with the running totals. Just in case you're relatively new to this blog, my staking plan is 2% of bank (ratcheted at its highest peak), but with stakes reducing by 50% if the bank is reduced by 50%. My most recent peak was £1350.50 (starting from £150 back in the middle of November 2008), so my current stakes are £27.01. My bank at the moment, before tonight's races, is on £1110.79, so £240 behind a new increased stake, but £435.54 away from having to reduce stakes (just over 16 stakes).

Every now and then I get swamped with a feeling that if in the next six months I enjoy the same sort of results as the last six months, my bank would worth more than £10k. But I'm not getting too carried away as I know that a rotten run may be just around the corner!

Weekly Update

Just time for a quick weekly update before I dash off to work:

Monday 8th June - Sunday 14th June.

7 placed (26.8%)
Level stakes result: -0.66pts

Things slowing down after a sensational run, but still an excellent month so far.

Weekly Update

Monday June 1st 2009 - Sunday June 7th 2009

This was a sensational week, unquestionably the best since the plan began.

Plenty of big priced winners including at 10/1, 11/1, 16/1 and 25/1(r4 15pded).

My personal bank went from £273.60 to £1064.10, with the progressive staking really kicking in in good style, and the "double stake" system worked well too with a couple of winners. It meant my bets went from £5.95 at the start of last Monday, to £21.72 at the start of this week.

But to level stakes, things were still very impressive as well.

Bets: 33
Wins: 9 (27.27%)
Placed: 6 (18.18%)
Level stakes profit: 78.25pts
Roi: 237.12%

Clearly things can't possible continue in this spectacular way but regardless of what happens it means my bank is finally on a decent level to really go to war with.

Marvellous May

May was a good month. It had a slowish start but picked up after a few days and kept driving forwards.

My own bank, with it's slightly odd staking plan saw a boost of just over 60%, which is actually less than I had in April (63.8%) because of reduced stakes kicked in half way through the month, but because of the increased starting stake saw returns almost double of that in April (if that makes any sense!).

May:
122 bets
23 wins (18.85%)
25 placed (20.49%)
Level stakes profit: 37.08pts
ROI: 30.39%

Weekly Update

Just to update the last week's results:

Runners 29
Winners 6 (20.7%)
Placed 5 (17.2%)
Level stakes profit: +14pts

Weekly Update (belated)

Just to quickly catch up on last week's weekly update:

Monday 18th May - Sunday 24th May

32 bets
7 wins (21.9%)
8 placed (25%)
Level stakes profit: 29.23pts

What a week so far

I just wanted to take stock for a moment, and put on screen what a fantastic week it's been so far. I've had five profitable days in a row, and a profit since Monday of 36.73pts

In that time, there've been 13 bets, with 6 wins (strike rate 46%), with an average win odds of 6.13/1. Two double stake selections have also won. I've also missed the very best prices with at least two or three of those winners, so the profits could have been greater had work not got in the way. All that and 4 placed runners as well (two beaten less than a length).

That's a return on investment of 193.26%!

Hope you don't mind me being indulgent by pointing all this out - I only do it because I know it can't possibly continue in such a rich vein - but by God is it enjoyable while it lasts!

Weekly Update

Time for a quick weekly update

Since Monday it looks like this:

24 bets
4 wins 16.66%
6 placed 25%
14 unplaced 58.33%
4.5pt loss on the week

It's been a little while since the last decent priced winner (10/1+) and that's one of the main reasons the bank's been suffering a little recently, as results have actually stayed reasonably consistent. Hopefully one or two will be around the corner.

Overall we're looking like this:

379 bets
58 wins
15.3% strike rate
Average win odds: 6.2/1
Level stake profit: + 26.19pts
Return on investment: 8.78%

Level stake results month by month

Here's how things look to level stakes (as explained before my slightly odd staking plan can make things look a bit odd!)

November - 29 bets - 3 wins - minus 10.5pts (Running total -10.5pts)
December - 43 bets - 9 wins - plus 25.5pts (Running total + 15pts)
January - 39 bets - 6 wins - plus 11pts (Running total + 26pts)
February - 33 bets - 4 wins - plus 0.5pts (Running total +26.5pts)
March - 70 bets - 6 wins - minus 22.75pts (Running total +3.25pts)

April - 101 bets - 18 wins - plus 28.3pts (Running total +31.55pts)

The overall strike rate is 14.6% and the average win odds are 6.53/1 while the average price of selection is 8.28/1.

A decent April

Just to put on record how April went:

101 bets 18 wins (17.82% strike rate) 23 placed (22.8%)
WIN £64.12 (+63.8% of bank from month's start)
Total bank: £164.70

The peak was £219.02 and I am on a current run of ten without a win.

Stakes are currently £4.38.
If the bank is reduced to £109.51 then stakes will be reduced to £2.19.
Any level above £219.02 will mean increased stakes.

If May can provide half of what's happened this month the bank will end May on £217.24 so that seems a reasonable short term target.

Weekly update

Not sure if this will become a regular feature but have a few minutes so thought I may as well do a weekly update. These are the results from last Monday through to today:

21 bets
3 wins 14.29%
8 placed 38.1%
10 unplaced 47.6%
1.5pt loss on the week

Roll on tomorrow!

Level stake results month by month

It's occurred to me that it might be useful for people stopping by this blog to have some sort of running total in terms of pure level stakes pointage. I'll do this monthly from now on. As it stands my own staking plan (as discussed elsewhere) creates a slightly lopsided feel to the cash results at times as I look to increase wins when the money's there and stem losses if we have a few defeats.

So here is the first month by month tally to a single point level stake betting plan - starting in November when this plan kicked into gear (before this blog started).

November - 29 bets - 3 wins - minus 10.5pts (Running total -10.5pts)
December - 43 bets - 9 wins - plus 25.5pts (Running total + 15pts)
January - 39 bets - 6 wins - plus 11pts (Running total + 26pts)
February - 33 bets - 4 wins - plus 0.5pts (Running total +26.5pts)
March - 70 bets - 6 wins - minus 22.75pts (Running total +3.25pts)
April (at present) 18 bets - 6 wins - plus 24.5pts (Running total +27.75pts)

The overall strike rate is 14.66% and the average win odds are 6.64/1 while the average price of selection is 8.53/1.

November wasn't a complete month and January and February were hit very badly by abandoned fixtures (I don't follow all weather moves as they've proved far too unreliable). Obviously March (and much of Feb in fact) was tough but as mentioned elsewhere it's going to happen every now and then with a relatively low strike rate. There were a horrible amount of seconds in there though.

Anyway come each month's end I'll update on here my current bank, with current bet size but also keep a note of these level stake profit/loss tallies to a single point.

The mad month of March

Just to put on here the final standings after March.

What a rubbish time was had, 70 bets and only six wins - a loss of some £133.57 in the end (- 56.9% of bank).

During that time there was a straight run of 30 losers, a record for my research and quite a few large priced runners up (including 20/1, 14/1 , 10/1).

Things have improved in the last few days which hopefully means we can continue the good form into April.

My overall strike rate is currently standing at 13.08%, where from my research I would be expecting at least 15% , so things have been under performing since the start of this betting plan (started November 19th 2008). I see no reason why things won't correct themselves in the next few weeks/months.

I haven't really ever set any proper targets for this, (apart from the overall slightly grandiose aim of "winning a fortune"!) and I prefer it this way, I don't want to feel hampered by profit plans and slipping behind. Having said that, I think it's safe to say I'd be disappointed if the bank wasn't sitting with at least £500 by this time next year. That may not seem like a large amount of money, but the fact is if that percentage increase can be repeated again by the following April the bank would then be on £2500, and then the following April again it would be £12500. It's going to take a while but I'm sure this can pay very generously in the long run, with a stable and steady staking plan. All will become clear in the months ahead!

February a winning month

But not by a lot!

The three selections were all beaten yesterday sadly.

2.20 at Kempton - Double Obsession - 3rd - SP 13-2

2.50 at Kempton - Hello My Lovely - 4th - SP 6-1

3.45 at Newbury - Procas De Thaix - 4th - SP 7-2

So again I had the value on each of the selections, but not a winner in sight unfortunately.

No runners today (Sunday), so roll on tomorrow!
