It recovered the losses from Sunday, and earlier on Monday and added an extra point, nothing too spectacular but good to see things ticking over.
So yesterday we had:
3.10 Fontwell Skipper's Lad 1pt 10/1 Lads
TIME COURSE SELECTION 1pt/2pt win Bookmaker(s) / Price(s)
3.30 Towcester Shelomoh 1pt 8/1 Coral/Hills/Bet365/Lads/Paddy Power
4.05 Towcester Argentia 1pt 7/1 Lads/Bet365/Paddy Power
4.45 Fontwell Flow Gently Along 1pt 7/1 Bet365/Totesport/Stan James
And these four really didn't do a lot at all. Shelomoh ran quite well for a long time, before fading badly, while Argentia and Flow Gently Along drifted markedly and ran really poorly, not good. ATR lost the pictures for Skippers Lad's race, but he was well beaten after apparently not enjoying the ground, despite the market support.
On to today, and much better. We had:
TIME COURSE SELECTION 1pt/2pt win Bookmaker(s) / Price(s)
4.40 Catterick Miss Champaigne 1pt 8/1 Hills/Bet365
4.50 Plumpton Deep Pockets 1pt 13/2 Hills/Bet365 (7/1 Stan James)
Miss Champagne was right up there and traded odds on in running as she looked a big danger, but she didn't quite see it out, after going off at 15/2.
Then we had Deep Pockets, which looked well held at one stage (trading at 380 in running!) but stayed on really gallantly to take it up going over the last. We were helped by the strong travelling Strongbows Legend's departure four out, but our fellow got the trip really nicely and who's to say he wouldn't have won anyway. VERY well done to Robbie Henderson, the amateur jock on board who performed a minor miracle staying in the saddle at the same fance Strongbows Legend came down, a great showing. We had a fair size rule 4 in play with this selection, so we got the SP, 6/1 with BOG in play.
