A good day but..

Two selections today, a winner and a second place, and quite funny really, the winner could easily have been beaten and the second should almost certainly have won.

We had:

TIME COURSE SELECTION 1pt/2pt win Bookmaker(s) / Price(s)
6.10 Windsor Cruise Tothelimit 1pt 11/2 generally 6/1 Bluesq 13/2 Lads/Tote
8.40 Windsor Robin Hoods Bay 1pt 5/1 generally 11/2 Boyle/VC/Bluesq

Both were nicely backed, and the winner came in the form of Cruise Tothelimit. The 13/2 lasted just a few minutes this morning, so we'll put him up as an 11/2 success. Regardless, good value would have been had as the 3yo went off a very well supported 11/4. He was involved in a thrilling, three way finish, and he just got up in the last strides.

While Cruise Tothelimit might have easily have been beaten a head or shorter as he won, we think Robin Hoods Bay was probably one that got away. Short of room a fair way out, he again tried to make ground before being completely squeezed for space by the eventual winner, before staying on again to go down by half a length, after starting at 7/2, frustrating stuff!

Confirmation of results and prices (advised --- SP):

Cruise Tothelimit, 1st/7, 11/2 --- 11/4
Robin Hoods Bay, 2nd/9, 5/1 --- 7/2

As the dust settles we can reflect on another profitable day, and look forward to tomorrow. The weather seems (touch wood) to be settling down a little so hopefully we'll have a nice spell of settled ground, which is often the recipe for the best returns.
