Let's start yesterday where we had:
Danceintothelight, 4th/10, 8/1 --- 5/1
Thursday 7th July 2011:
TIME COURSE SELECTION 1pt/2pt win Bookmaker(s) / Price(s)
3.20 Catterick Danceintothelight 1pt 7/1 / 15/2 generally 8/1 Bet365/Hills/Boyle/VC some 9/1 Lads
4.20 Catterick Come And Go 1pt 7/1 Hills/PP/VC/Bluesq 8/1 Bet365
4.50 Catterick Handicraft 1pt 9/1 generally some 10/1 VC/Betfred
Danceintothelight ran ok, travelling nicely just behind the leaders, but couldn't quicken well enough and ended finishing 4th, after going off a well supported 5/1.
Come And Go was also nicely backed, starting at 4/1. Rousted along early, he was out the back before making late ground but was never going to get near the leaders, finishing 5th.
Then came Handicraft, another we got the price with, starting at 13/2. She was there with every chance but was too one paced and came 5th.
Onto today and we had:
TIME COURSE SELECTION 1pt/2pt win Bookmaker(s) / Price(s)
3.55 Warwick Commache Queen 1pt 9/2 generally 5/1 Lads/Coral/Boyle&others
5.00 Warwick Steelcut 1pt 8/1 generally 9/1 Lads/Totesport
9.05 Epsom Baldemar 1pt 6/1 generally 7/1 Hills/Skybet/Betfred/Stan James
Commache Queen went off at 7/2 but raced far too keenly early on, which has been a bit of a feature for our selections of late, and she faded late on.
Steelcut started at 8/1 and after racing well off the pace early on, made ground up just over a furlong out but was never really going to get to the leaders.
And then came Baldemar, who raced prominently at Epsom tonight, and then quickened into the lead, staying on well all the way to the line to win by half a length. A pleasing end to the day. Annoyingly there was a 15p R4 deduction so the 7/1 became 5.95/1, although we still had the price there, with the SP at 5/1.
Summary of results with prices (advised --- SP):
Wednesday 6th July 2011:
Come And Go, 5th/11, 7/1 --- 4/1
Handicraft, 5th/12, 9/1 --- 13/2
Commache Queen, 6th/8, 5/1 --- 7/2
Steelcut, 4th/10, 8/1 --- 8/1
Baldemar, 1st/8, 5.95/1 --- 5/1
So six bets in over the course of two days, and a profit of 0.95pts, July just beginning to turn a little after Tuesday's winner as well. All pretty steady, hopefully we'll have an explosive day of profit soon.
